Description
Chayim Israel Perl was born in pre war Romania. In early May 1944 he was sent to Auschwitz, and after the selection he was transferred from Auschwitz to Buchenwald, Dora-Mittelbau, and was finally liberated from Bergen Belsen in April 1945. He was sent to Sweden by the Red Cross. In December 1947 he set sail for Palestine. After several unsuccessful attempts to land, he was arrested as an illegal immigrant by the British Royal Navy and deported to a DP camp in Cyprus. In February 1949 he finally reached Eretz Yisroel. Not suitable for children
