The Navi Journey: Shir Hashirim

In Shir Hashirim, a song of ruach hakodesh, Shlomo Hamelech comforts Yisrael in galus. He does this in his role as the one who built the Beis Hamikdash, and the one who sings of the final redemption. Shlomo Hamelech speaks of the exile from the holy land and the yissurim Bnei Yisrael would endure in the future, and their eventual return to the land. He describes the beauty of what will take place during this redemption, all hinted to in the chapters of Shir Hashirim, a shirah given over l'doros, for future generations to connect to and gain chizuk from each of its holy words. The words of Shir Hashirim are the delight of the Jewish nation. Without the explanations of Chazal, however, literal translations of this work impart only a faint impression of the storehouse of wisdom they contain.
