Insights into the faith and philosophy of prayer
Never underestimate the power of a whisper.
God appears to be far beyond our reach, beyond this world and
beyond all galaxies. But in truth, there is no one as close as He is.
How close? Close enough to hear us whisper.
“Rabbi Yitzchak Botton has authored a fine book explaining many fundamental ideas of Jewish prayer and the siddur.... Learning this work and putting its many wonderful ideas into practice will help people connect with Hashem, feel the depth of HaKadosh Baruch Hu’s love for them, and look at tefillah as a pleasure and honor rather than a burden.”
—Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz, Rav, Kehillat Ohr Somayach, Jerusalem
“Rabbi Yitzchak Botton’s sefer is based primarily on classical sources. His work is inspiring, instructive, and enlightening, bringing the lofty world of tefillah within the readers’ grasp and elevating readers so that they can aspire to enhance their davening.”
—Rabbi Nisson Wolpin, z”l, former editor of the Jewish Observer
“This is more than a sefer to be studied. You are holding a tool to a better davening. Rabbi Botton gives us the ability to achieve greater meaning in our davening. Read it
again and again!”
—Rabbi Yisroel Reisman, Rosh Yeshivah and Maggid Shiur of Torah Vodaath, Brooklyn, NY
Originally from New York, Rabbi Yitzchak Botton is the author of the weekly column, “Prayer Essentials,” for Ohr Somayach’s Torah Weekly Ohrnet, and a rebbe in Ohr Somayach, where he gives lectures on various topics including Talmud, halachah, hashkafah, and Jewish mysticism. His many lectures on these topics can be found online on Hidabroot’s channel and its English website.
